About The School

The Billimoria High School, Panchgani was established in 1908 as a residential school for boys. In 1995 the school was acquired by the Aditi Education Society. After the change in ownership the schools mandate was broadened to include girls in its student body. Today, it’s a full fledge co-educational residential school. The school tries to maintain a high academic standard with equal emphasis on co-curricular and extra curricular activities. The school has always considered academic learning as a part of its activity to draw out the full potential of a student as an individual and as a citizen. The school is glad to be in touch with the small town community, which enables it to be in close touch with problems and challenges, which confront the society and the nation.

 Bus Service

From Pune:
Regular buses of MSRTC, Deluxe, Semi Luxury and Ordinary, ply between Pune and Mahableshwar via Panchgani from Pune Station Bus Terminus at an hourly interval. The first bus leaves Pune at 5:30 am and the last at 5:30 pm.

From Mumbai:
There are a limited number of buses that ply between Mumbai and Panchgani in the Morning and at Night. However quite a few government and private buses ply between Mumbai and Mahableshwar. Local transport between Mahableshwar and Panchgani is available.

Railway Service:

Satara:
Satara, South Central Railway (SCR) is the closest railway head. The Satara station is about 10 kms away from the Satara city.
Pune:
Pune Junction (CR) is the most convenient rail head.
Mumbai - Pune Trains:
There are six intercity daily trains between the two cities. Besides all trains to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh from Mumbai and Gujrath pass through Pune.

Air Travel

Pune airport is the closest airport. There are daily flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Banglore, Channai,Goa and Ahmedabad.

From Pune:
Regular taxies ply between Pune and Panchgani. These operate from outside Pune Station Bus Terminus.

Satara: 
Satara is the nearest Railway station to  Panchgani.

 PANCHGANI

Panchgani, is a picturesque hill station nestling in the Sahyadri Ranges of the Western Ghats. At an elevation of 1,400 meters above sea level, Panchgani enjoys a pleasant climate throughout the year. With 30 residential schools, some of them with a century old history, Panchgani is internationally known as a center of education.

PLACE OF INTEREST:

Panchgani:

· Table Land – Asia’s Second Largest Mountain top Plateau.

·  Sydney Point – Gives Panoramic view of the Kamalgadh, Krishna River and
   Dhom Dam.

·  Parsi Point – Gives a breath taking view of the ravine below.

 

Mahableshwar:

·  16 kms away from Panchgani and at a higher elevation is the better-known hill station of the two. Mahableshwar has a number of scenic points, like Arthur Seat Point, Bombay Point, Kates Point etc.

Old Mahableshwar:

·It is about 14 kms away from Panchgani. Its known for the ancient temple and the origin of river Krishna.

BOARDING / LODGING

1. The Billimoria High School shall provide separate accommodation for boys and girls in the school premises.

2. The Manager / Coach shall stay with their teams.

3. Billimoria High School will not be responsible for loss of any valuable.

4. Boarding and lodging facilities shall be provided at the cost of Rs. 225/- per head per day ( which includes Veg-Food, Mattress & Blankets)

5. The total amount for all days should be handed over on arrival to the official in - charge.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• You are requested to bring CBSE sports annual fees reciept when reporting.

• Each participating school shall bear the cost of travel, kit, lodging and boarding.

• Any damage to Billimoria High School property by the participants should be compensated by the team Manager / Coach.

• All participants are expected to maintain proper discipline and decorum at all times inside the school campus. The staff accompanying the team will be totally responsible to ensure the same during their stay in Billimoria High School campus.

• Consumption of Liquor and Cigarettes is strictly prohibited inside the school campus and is a punishable civil offence in Maharashtra.
  

• All participating teams should reach Panchgani only on 16 Oct., 2011 before 4:00 pm

  
  The entry should reach the school on or before
  15th September, 2011 without fail.
